Funeral services for Camille Yvonne Sims will be held Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 10:00 AM at New Chapel Hill Baptist Church, West Monroe. Pastor Marty Black will officiate. Interment will follow at New Chapel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.Yvonne was born on December 23, 1939, in West Monroe, Louisiana and went to be with the Lord on August 7, 2018. She spent her career working as a legal secretary for Hayes, Harkey, Smith, and Cascio Attorneys at Law for over 50 years. She lived life to its fullest and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and friends. One of her greatest joys in life included being with her five grandchildren. She was an active member of New Chapel Hill Baptist Church serving on several committees. Yvonne was married to her late husband Charles Glen Red Sims for 59 years. Red and Yvonne were avid car enthusiasts and longtime members of Northeast Louisiana Street Rod Association.Yvonne will be remembered as a selfless wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who always wore a smile on her face, even during hard times. Her kind and caring nature was evident in her volunteer work assisting residents of Savannah Grand and visiting those in need. She had a quiet strength and never complained during her sickness. Yvonne demonstrated a strong, never wavering faith in God and was at peace with Him when He called her home.Yvonne is preceded in death by her husband Charles Glen Red Sims, her parents Glenn Arvelle Alexander and Georgia Laverne, brothers, Glenn Alexander and Tommy Alexander.
