Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice!” Philippians 4:4.

Dave Michael Denton, 71, of Dubach, Louisiana is now rejoicing in the presence of the Lord.  Surrounded by his family, Dave passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018.  He was born on November 12, 1946, in Bernice, Louisiana to Maggie Thompson and Wilson C. Denton.   Dave was a graduate of Summerfield High School and served in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1972.  Donna Denise Jordan, the love of his life and his best friend, married Dave on July 15, 1966 and together they faced life’s joys and trials for fifty-two years.  Dave was an active member of First Baptist Church Dubach enjoying the fellowship of the church family who helped sustain them through their prayers and love over the past months.  Friend to so many, Dave touched the lives of all those around him especially his family. He was a man who quietly and kindly gave to others and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Dave is survived by his wife, Donna Denton; by his children: Lisa Denton Newton and husband Jim, Chris Denton and Atonya, and David Denton and wife Trina. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Samantha Jo Zimmerman and husband Jared, Michael Newton, Christopher Denton and wife Alexsis, Meghan Newton, Austin Denton, Haley Denton, and Wyatt Denton; by three great-grandchildren: Alex, Aeryn, and Lola-Mae; by siblings: Dan Denton and wife Barbara Jo, Gary Denton and wife Margaret, Marjorie Huey and husband Randel, and his cousin and friend Larry Barnett (a.k.a the other Denton brother) and wife Teresa; sisters and brothers-in-law: Sue Denton, Billy Bagwell, Ginger Hagewood and husband Gene, Bobbie Jordan and wife Angie, Jay Jordan and wife Jill; and by his mother-in-law, Yvonne Jordan. In addition, Dave is survived my numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and too many friends to count. He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Joyce Denton Bagwell, Beth Denton Newman, Ann Denton Andrews, and Don Denton.

A celebration of his life will be conducted by his pastor, Bro. Cory Bruce, at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 10, 2018, at First Baptist Church Dubach in Dubach, LA. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 1:00 P.M. in the church sanctuary. Dave will be buried in a private family ceremony at Hebron Baptist Church at 4 pm.

Dave Denton truly loved the meals served by the ladies at First Baptist so in lieu of flowers he asked that money be donated to the First Baptist Church building fund to help build the new kitchen. Donations can be mailed to 155 Church Street, Dubach, LA 71235.

Online condolences may be made to the family at www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.com.
