Doris Holmes Roark, 90, of West Monroe, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018, which would have been Mom and Dad 70th wedding anniversary. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018 at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park. Rev. Carl Durden, her nephew, will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe.Doris was preceded in death by her parents, James A. and Texa Rae Holmes; husband, Homer Bernard Roark; brother, Jim Holmes and wife, Katherine; daughter-in-law, Janet Roark; best friend and neighbor, Fay Auttonberry. Doris was a longtime member of the First Church of the Nazarene of West Monroe. She was also a member of the Lioness Club, RSVP and a volunteer with the Glenwood Auxiliary.Mom was our Mother of the Year since 1949, blessing our family with a legacy of love and Christian faith. We, her children, arise today and call her blessed: Mike Roark and wife Vicki, David Roark and Rosemary Dillingham, Jerry Roark and wife Darla, Robin Roark and wife Becky, Karen Roark Johnston and husband Jerry Ray of Franklin, TN, Susie Roark Bryan and husband Gary; 15 grandchildren, Brian Roark, Amy Adcock (Jason), Stormy McCallon (Shawn), Wendy Jones (Jay), Misty Wren (Justin), Kim Harrison (Jeff), Justin Roark (Julee), Bobby Roark (Ariel), Ashley Taylor (Stephen), Lauren Knies (Evan), Jaren Johnston (Evyn), Texa Rae Johnston, Matthew Bryan (Mindy), Miranda Gryder (Zach), and Molly Parker (Brandon) and 21 great-grandchildren. Also 4 greats and 2 great-great grandchildren are expected soon. She is also survived by 2 sisters-in-law, Doris Miller and Rhoda Durden and a brother-in-law, Hershel Dewayne Roark and wife Kitty.Grandsons will be serve as pallbearers.
