Funeral services for Harold Edward Fuhrmeister, 87, of Ruston will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Douglas United Methodist Church. Rev. Jeremy Jones will officiate. Interment will follow at Douglas Cemetery in Choudrant, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.Ed Fuhrmeister was born on October 17, 1928 and passed away on August 29, 2016. He spent almost 30 years as a metallurgical engineer for Haynes International before retirement. Ed was a member of Douglas United Methodist Church for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Fuhrmeister, and brothers: Robert Fuhrmeister and Charles Fuhrmeister.Ed is survived by daughter, Susan Jean Eichhorst and husband Randy, of Drums, PA; grandson Eric and wife, Kristina; great granddaughters: Amelia and Adeline; granddaughter: Sarah Fountain and husband, Leon; son: Jeffrey Edward Fuhrmeister and wife, Mary Pat, of Collegeville, PA; granddaughter: Ashley Fuhrmeister; grandsons: Nicholas Fuhrmeister and Michael Fuhrmeister; daughter: Amy Pardue and husband, Jimmy; grandson: Jr. Pardue and wife, Leslie; great granddaughter: Lexie; and sister, Lois Kempson of Syracuse, NY.The family thanks Betty Brownfield, Katherine Thomas, Katrina Mattox, Shaun Grant, and Yolanda and Kim White and Makeisha Bolds for their loving care of Mr. Fuhrmeister.Pallbearers will be Michael Fuhrmeister, Nicholas Fuhrmeister, Jeff Fuhrmeister, Eric Eichhorst, Jimmy Pardue, Ashley Fuhrmeister and Sarah Fountain.Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until time for service at 11:00 at Douglas United Methodist Church in Choudrant, LA.Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.com
