Funeral services for Floy Maxine Weems St. John will be at 3:00 PM, Thursday, August 18, 2016 at First United Methodist Church on Loop Road in Monroe, LA with Rev. J. Roddy Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Downsville, LA.Mrs. St. John was born on July 26, 1925 in Downsville, LA and passed away on August 15, 2016 in Monroe, LA. She worked for the Illinois Central Railroad, Drs. Henry Hammonds (over 25 years) and Albert Donald. She graduated from Downsville High School and Monroe Secretarial School. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Monroe, Anna Grey Noe Sunday School, Elizabeth Langford Methodist Women Guild, and Monroe Association of Professional Women. Her hobby was playing bridge.She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Lee St. John; father John Roy Weems; mother, Mary Alma (Mamie) Spurlock Weems; brother, Gerald Glenn Weems and sister, Mary Joy Weems Hill.She is survived by her son, Robert Glenn St. John, Sr. and wife, Kay Hastings St. John; daughter, Mary Kathryn (Kathy) St. John White and husband, Emmett L. White; grandsons, Matthew Lee White and wife, Jennifer Nittoso and Robert Glenn St. John, Jr. and wife, Elizabeth Miner St. John; great granddaughter, Isabel Marie St. John; and great grandson, Robert Clay St. John III.The family gives special thanks to Dr. Green, Dr. Barrow, St. Joseph Hospice and the care that the sitters gave her over the last few months.Pallbearers will be: Matthew White, Robert St. John, Blaine Richardson, Dan Weems, Ronald Ray and Leamon Crane.Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM, Thursday, August 18, 2016 at First United Methodist Church.Memorials may be made to The First United Methodist Church, American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
