George W. Wiltcher, Sr went to be with the Lord on October 11, 2015 in Fort Worth after a long battle with Leukemia. George (Poodlum) was born on October 13, 1932 in Bernice LA to William and Addie Wiltcher.He made a distinguished 21 year career in the Army where he won numerous awards and commendations. He spent tours in both the Korean and Vietnam wars and retired as a Master Sergeant E-8 in 1971.He loved gardening and deer and squirrel hunting with friends and never met a stranger. Due to declining health he moved to Fort Worth in 2010.He was preceded in death by his parents: William and Addie and son George W. Wilthcer, Jr.He is survived by Betty, his wife of 64 and a half years; daughter: Gerry Davis and her husband Tim of Fort Worth Texas; sons: James Wiltcher of Fort Worth and Richard and wife Angela of Rio Rancho, New Mexico.His pride and joy were his five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, with one on the way.His sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Friday, October 16, at the First Baptist Church in Bernice.Funeral services will be Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Bernice, LA.Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.com
