Funeral services for Gerald B. Smith, Jr., 71, of Monroe, LA , will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 1, 2014 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Rev. Jerry Burns, Sister Betty Burns and Sister Shirley Davidson will be officiating. Interment will follow at Oakley Cemetery, Gilbert, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Mr. Smith was born March 20, 1943 in Wisner, LA and passed away October 30, 2014 in Monroe, LA. He was a member of Prayer House of Jesus, West Monroe, LA. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, G.B. and Elizabeth Smith; his first wife Beverly Lachney Smith. Mr. Smith was a contract welder and served in the United States Army.Mr. Smith is survived by his wife; Carolyn Fatheree Smith; son, Wyatt G. Smith and wife Jessica; daughters, Kim Thompson and husband Keith, Joan Brown, Heather Smith and husband Jason, Victoria Lowery and husband Justin; step-daughters Cathy Deroche and husband Gerald, Anna Boone and husband Jason; step-son, William Todd Fatheree and wife Jana; sister, Pauline Lee; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.Visitation will be held Saturday, November 1, 2014 from 12:00 PM until service time at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
