Funeral services for Ivy Redding, 88, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 4:00 PM, Wednesday, April 16, 2014 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Dr. Woods Watson will be officiating. Interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.Mr. Redding was born August 25, 1925 in West Monroe and passed away April 13, 2014 in West Monroe. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart. He retired from Missouri Pacific Railroad. After retirement, he opened Ivy R. Redding Company in Calhoun and has been in business for over 50 years. Mr. Redding was a member of First Baptist Church for over 88 years where he served on the usher committee. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sammie Redding and a brother, Prentice Redding.Mr. Redding is survived by his children; Kala Nolan and husband Donald, Danny Redding and wife Rene‚© and Jerry Redding and wife Janie; 6 grandchildren, Brad Nolan and wife Ginger, Betsy Roark, Ryan Redding, Sara Beth Redding, Emily Redding and Allison Redding; 3 great-grandchildren, Philip Roark, Matthew Ivy Nolan and Mary Alice Nolan.Pallbearers will be Ryan Redding, Brad Nolan, Philip Roark, Leslie Humble, Reggie Freeman and David Redding.Honorary pallbearers will be ushers of First Baptist Church.Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.comKilpatrick Funeral HomeWest Monroe, LA
