Funeral services for Mr. John Roger Rhodes, 79, of Spearsville, LA., will be held at 10:00 A.M.., Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at the First Baptist Church in Spearsville, LA., with Bro. James Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Rhodes Cemetery at Primative Baptist Spearsville, LA., under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Farmerville. Mr. Rhodes was born on April 11, 1935 in Shreveport, LA., and passed away on August 24, 2014 in Ruston, LA. He was retired from Lion Oil as a Pipeline Maintance worker. He was also a member of Spearsville Baptist Church and a volunteer on the Spearsville Fire department.He is survived by his wife of Barbara Gacek Rhodes of Spearsville, LA; sons John B. Rhodes of Spearsville, LA; Roger Rhodes of Tigrett, TN; Andy Rhodes of Dyersburg, TN; daughters, Marie Campell of Dyersbrug, TN; Mary Rhodes of Dyersburg, TN; step-son Keith Ferrell of Tiptonville, TN; sisters Margaret Hollis of Eugene, OR; Dixie Carpenter of Memphis, TN; brother Roland Rhodes of Natchez, MS; eight grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; also numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Matt Harris, Tim Clement, Chris Taylor, Eric McAdams, Joel Williams, and Mark Rasmussen. Honorary Pallbearer will be Sgt. Roger Lynn Rhodes Jr.Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in Spearsville, LA.
