Lester was born on February 18, 1942 and passed away from this life in the early morning of April 24, 2015.Lester served his country honorably for 2 years in the United States Armed Forces.He retired from Frozen Foods Express after 41 years of service. He lived in Lancaster, TX, for many years but mostly in his 18 wheeler where he traveled all over the United States. As the song goes Ive been everywhere man He received numerous safety and outstanding awards and respect from his fellow co-workers and friends at FFE. He retired and came back to his home that he loved so much in Downsville, LA, where he became active in his community. He loved to share his hospitality, his farm raised vegetables and eggs and with his friends, family and neighbors.Preceding him in death were his parents, James Lester Johnston and Janie Bridges Johnston.Survivors are his two daughters: Danna Ruth Johnston Wesson & Andrew Wesson, Kasie Loud & husband Lendoll of Kaufman, TX; sister, Dorothy Eathorne of Garland, TX; brother Van Johnston and wife Charlotte of Downsville, LA; sister, Frances Jennings and husband James of Downsville, LA; grandchildren, Kaleb & Kazleigh Wesson & Kaiden & Kameron Loud.He was a member of Holmesville Baptist Church . He loved Blue Grass Gospel and Country Music.He enjoyed hanging out with his friends and loved his children and his nieces and nephews. He loved showing off his fruit trees and garden when they came around.He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Our pain is great today because our love for him is great.Pallbearers will be Jerry Thurston, Len Alvis, Warren Alvis, Ashley Bailey, Nathan Ryan Jennings and Ryan David Lofton. Honorary pallbearers are Stein Bearden, Von Bearden, Leonard Ledford, and Robert Kavanaugh.Visitation will be Monday, April 27, from 5-8pm at Kilpatrick in Farmerville. Funeral services for Mr. Lester Bridges Johnston will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Holmesville Baptist Church in Downsville, LA., with Rev Jerry Whitman and Dr. Ryan Jennings officiating.
