Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred May Chapman, 97 of West Monroe will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 6, 2018 at First Baptist Church Feazel Chapel, West Monroe, La. Mrs. Chapman will be laid to rest beside her husband, Truman W. Peewee Chapman at the family plot in Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe. Dr. Mark Fenn assisted by Dr. Woods Watson will conduct the services. Visitation will be held at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe from 5-7p.m. Sunday August 5, 2018.Mrs. Chapman, a lifelong resident of West Monroe, gained her angel wings on August 3, 2018 at the West Monroe Guest House after a brief illness. She was born in Caldwell Parish on May 4, 1921 to William Harvey and Vertie Wall May. Mrs. Chapman was a member of First Baptist Church of West Monroe, a former hairdresser, consultant for Home Interiors, and a proud member of the American Business Woman Association. At the age of sixty-nine, she discovered a new talent, oil painting, which she loved to share with her family and friends which were dear to her heart. Her family was her most prized possession, and she cherished all the times together and memories made as Mamaw to her grand-children and Granny Gram to her great grand-children. She was preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Vertie May, her husband Truman. W. Chapman, and her sisters Myrtle May and Ruth May Stone. She is survived by her five children: Peggy Chapman Duncan and husband Neal, James Harvey Chapman and wife Monika, Michael Brent Chapman and wife Linda, Truman Lane Chapman and wife Teresa, and Raymond Dane Chapman and wife Kay; thirteen grandchildren Greg Duncan and wife Stephanie, Woody Duncan and wife Sara, Michael T. Chapman and wife Rhonda, Thomas Chapman and wife Colleen, Richard Chapman and wife Rebecca, Paul LoBianco and wife Christina, Theresa Stephenson and husband Lyle, Kaycee Wood and husband Doug, Corye Chapman, Whitney Richardson and husband Nick, Amanda Acy and husband Jared, Kristen Davis and husband Adam, and Makenzie Chapman; twenty-eight great grand-children; sisters Rowena Roberson and Violet Duffey, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Serving Mrs. Chapman as pallbearers will be Greg Duncan, Thomas Chapman, Michael T. Chapman, Richard Chapman, Doug Wood, Nick Wood, Nick Richardson, and Bradley Duncan.
