Dear Family Members, I'm so sorry to read about the loss of Mildred May Chapman at the age of 97 years old. I'm sure everyone misses her. I didn't know her but I wanted to reach out to the family. I too have lost several family members in death. I miss them. Two scriptures have helped me. One is Acts 24:15 which says that there shall be a resurrection of the dead. We can look forward in seeing our dead loved ones again--alive.The other scripture is Isaiah 25:8 where it says that He that is Jehovah God will swallow up death in victory. That means there will come a time when NO one will ever die again. Hope these two scriptures will encourage you as they have encouraged me. In the meantime, take care of yourselves.

So sorry to read about Ms. Mildred! She was quite a lady and a special part of our family as all of you are. Wish we could be there! When mom passed away last April, we moved to north central Arkansas and are closer to our kids. We have many nice memories of growing up at church. My mom loved the ladies group and other get together. I do miss the visits we had at the Guest House for Ms. Mildred’s memory was very good. God bless!Gloria Simmons Jackson

To all Miss Mildred kids, I am so sorry for your loss. I am more sorry that Edward didn’t tell me about it until he was going home from the visitation. I still live at my grandparents place in Vixen. We can’t get the paper, and I am not connected to many around here. You know Miss Mildred was momma’s only real friend. You guys were like my family. My first memory was me playing under the table as momma worked on Peggy’s wedding cake at Trinity. All of us sliding down the cow trail into the creek, and playing ball together. Momma was good when she had Miss Mildred. I don’t know why they stopped being so close, but Miss Mildred made a huge difference in momma. She never made another friend afterwards. It’s funny that I found the book of poems that Miss Mildred and Peggy gave me when I graduated or maybe it was when I joined the AirForce just last week. I love Miss Mildred and all of you. I am crying as I write this. I thank you all for helping to raise me, and all the memories that are so precious to me. Please forgive me for not being there, but I am always with you in love and spirit. Love you! Linda Meredith Cummings 176 Linda Lane Columbia, LA. 71418
