Funeral services for Richard H. Raymond, Sr., of Monroe, La, will be at 3:00 PM, Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Jackson Street Church of Christ in Monroe with Paul David Raymond, Don Delukie and Terry Ware officiating. Entombment will be at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe.Mr. Raymond was born on July 5, 1929 in New Orleans, LA and passed away on August 20, 2014 in Monroe, LA. He loved God, his family, and work. He served in the Korean Conflict at the 39th Parallel. At the age of 6, he began working as a shoe shine boy in New Orleans and continued working until only two weeks ago. He was employed by Globe Life for 35 years and in the last 23 years was involved with real estate investments.He was preceded in death by his beloved son, David Lanier Raymond; brothers, Edgar J. Raymond, Jr. and Joseph (Sonny) Raymond; sisters, Clara Young, Edna Horton, and Ethel Puzzio.He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lynn Thomas Raymond; sons, Richard H. (Dickie) Raymond, Jr. and Paul David Raymond; daughters, Lisa Chesley, Becky Henry, and Kathryn Raymond; grandchildren, Trey Raymond, Anna Raymond, Mandy Murphy, and Bekah Kerley, Brett, Peyton, Blake, Somer, and Caroline Henry, Tristan and Elizabeth Raymond and Madison Raymond; 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, August 22, 2014 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe.Memorials may be made to Jackson Street Church of Christ or American Cancer Society.
