Funeral services for Ruth Langston, 90 of Litroe, LA, will be held Tuesday, September 30, 2014, at 10:00 A.M. at Litroe Baptist Church in Litroe, LA. Officiating the service will be Rev. Jessie Foster. Interment will be at Union Cemetery in Marion, LA under direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home. Mrs. Langston was born on June 10, 1924 in Mt. Pleasant TX, and passed away on September 26, 2014 in Farmerville, LA. She was a member of Litroe Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Lasco Langston, parents, Leo Telles Sr., and Leola Telles, and three brothers and one sister. She is survived by her children, Jerry Langston and wife Marlene of Huttig, AR; Roger Langston and wife Cathy of Marion, LA; Jimmy Langston and wife Lucille of Huttig, AR; Kathleen Nelson and husband Johnny of Huttig, AR; and Hilda Greer of Russellville, AR; sister, Minnie Louise Loy of SanAntonio,TX; fourteen grandchildren, twenty six great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; with numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth was my Great Aunt. She was married to my Grandmother's (Macie Langston Jamison) brother Lasko (Uncle Whit). When I was a little boy we used to spend a lot of time at her house. It had no running water, no electricity and no indoor toilet. But what I remember was how extremely clean the house was. You good eat off the floor at any time. She always was very kind and made me and my family feel right at home and very special. Ruth was tough but had a big heart. She always told me to be a good boy encouraged me to be good in school. Some of my best memories of my childhood came from Ruth's home. She made me and my cousins always feel very special when we went to visit. If everyone was like Ruth, the world would be a better place. God made Ruth an example of how people should live their lives and how to treat others. There is definitely a place for her in Heaven.
