Fermon L. Pierce formerly of Cabot, Arkansas died Friday, August 9th in Ruston, Louisiana. Fermon, also known as “Red”, was the owner and manager of Kellog Valley Barber Shop in Gravel Ridge, Arkansas for 56 years. He served as a deputy Sheriff for Pulaski County for 20 years. He was a perpetual member of the Cabot Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons and belonged to the Zion Hill Baptist Church.

He was born in Cameron, Oklahoma and graduated from Cameron High School. After a brief time working in central Illinois, he moved to Arkansas and made his home there.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Lena Pierce of Cameron, Oklahoma; his first wife, Marian Pierce; and one daughter, Denise Pierce who died as an infant. He is survived by his sister, Delma Moody of Cameron, Oklahoma; his daughter, Deanna Pierce of Omaha, Nebraska; his son, Dennis Pierce and wife Audrey of Denver, Colorado; his daughter Donna Serio and husband John of Ruston, Louisiana; his step daughter Rita Breze and husband Rick of Cabot, Arkansas; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.

Fermon will be buried at Fair Hill Cemetery in Cameron, Oklahoma with a graveside service at 10 am Saturday, August 17th.
