Funeral services for Aleatha Brown, 93, of West Monroe will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 9, 2023 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Pastor Billy Taylor will officiate and kind words will be shared by her granddaughter Joei Brown Rogers. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. until service time at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
Aleatha was born May 17, 1930 in West Monroe, LA and passed away August 6, 2023 in West Monroe. She was “The Avon Lady” and retired as a ward secretary at Glenwood after 30 plus years. Aleatha was an excellent seamstress, homemaker and cook. She was preceded in death by her husband, E.M. “Billy” Brown; parents William and Lucy Risher; son Billy Ralpn Brown; brothers W.O. “Otis” Risher, Duglas Risher; sisters Vernice Caples and Elaine Bennett; sons-in-law Fred Taylor and Chuck Donley.
Aleatha is survived by her daughter Joyce Brown Donley; son Kenneth W. Brown and wife Lynn; daughter-in-law Elizabeth Brown; 9 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express thanks to her nieces Peggy Allen and Debra Caples, and special friend Joan Tiller.
