Funeral services for Miss Alma Lufcy, 100, of Monroe will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, November 2, 2018 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Monroe, LA. Rev. J. Roddy Taylor will officiate. Interment will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Ball, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Monroe.Miss Lufcy passed away on October 29, 2018 in Monroe, LA. She was born on July 23, 1918 in Hermitage, AR to Walter W. and Erna Lufcy and lived most of her life in LaSalle Parish before entering then Louisiana Normal College. Miss Lufcy began her teaching career in LaSalle Parish and later entered the military. Following WWII, she worked for five years for the Veteran Administration. Miss Lufcy then received her Master Degree from LSU and returned to teaching in Caddo Parish. The last two decades of her 37 year teaching career were spent at then, Northeast Louisiana University as Dean of Women and Registrar.Miss Lufcy was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Alpha Delta Kappa and other educational and professional organizations. She had a genuine interest in her students and followed their achievements and successes with great pleasure. Miss Lufcy was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Erna Lufcy; sister, Joy Davis.Miss Lufcy is survived by two nieces, Ollie Ann Zielinski of Mt. Dora, FL and Susan Rice of Monroe; several great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many loving and caring friends.Honorary Pallbearers will be Bob Anderson, Bob Ford, Johnny Jacobs, Wayne Kelly, and Ken Vincent.Visitation will be from 9:00 until time of service (10:00 A.M), Friday, November 2, 2018 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Monroe.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 3900 Loop Road, Monroe, LA 71201 or to the charity of your choice in memory of Miss Lufcy.
