Ms. Annette Smith Fife, 66, was born December 20, 1949 in Jackson, MS and passed away May 14, 2016 after a long illness. She and her family moved to West Monroe in 1956. Her schooling began at Kiroli, then Crosley Grammar School where she was enrolled in accelerated “gifted” classes. She was a 1966 graduate of West Monroe High School. While in high school she participated in Scroll and Quill Club, Rebelettes, The Honor Society, and the Future Business Leaders Association.She graduated from Northeast Louisiana University in 1975 with a bachelor's degree in Medical Technology. Annette was employed by Glenwood Medical Center and later at the Louisiana Regional Laboratory at Monroe as a Medical Technician. When her children were small, Ms. Fife operated a successful stained glass business named a Touch of Glass. Several businesses, homes, and at least one church in the Twin Cities display her skilled works.Ms. Fife maintained a membership in the local Mensa Club, an organization of persons with an exceptionally high IQ.She was preceded in death by her mother, Nettie Mae Smith in 1999.Annette is survived by a son, Forrest Fife; one daughter, Cynthia Immel and husband Christopher; grandson, Jackson Immel; granddaughter , Brianna Fife; parents, A. B. and Ruby Smith; one brother Merlin Smith and wife Jane; five nieces and their families.Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's association or the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home, Monroe.
