Annie Laurie Lala Booth of Farmerville has gone home to her heavenly Father and rejoined her family after celebrating life on this earth for over 90 years. The daughter of Jones M. Tony and Annie At Preaus Booth and the sister of Dr. J E Booth, LaLa was born in the old Preaus home on Academy St. in Farmerville on Nov 29, 1920 and passed from this life on Aug 31, 2011. Fiercely independent, LaLa was a kind and loving soul dedicated to her Lord, her church, her family, and friends. She loved her cats, having taken care of literally hundreds over the years. After finishing at Farmerville High School in 1937 she graduated from La Tech with a degree in Business Administration. She was the first female employee of the Farmerville Bank, working there for 10 years. She then moved to Bossier City, LA and worked for Commercial National Bank for 34 years, retiring in 1985 before returning to her family home in Farmerville. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Farmerville where she taught in the Fidelis Sunday School Class for years until recent health issues prevented her from attending. Services were held Sept. 3 at Farmerville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Kurt Auger officiating followed by interment at the Farmerville City Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Ben Booth, Scotty Booth, Joe Preaus, John Preaus, Daniel Prine, and Curtis Thomas. Preceded in death by her parents, brother, and niece Laura Booth Kelly, she is survived by her nieces and nephews: Brian Booth Vickie of Columbia, MO Florence Prine Johnny of Pioneer, LA Richard Booth Mary Ellyn of Newnan, GA Great nieces and nephews: Ryan Booth of Columbia, MO Melissa Thomas Curtis of Spearsville, LA Chad Booth Samantha of Ruston, LA Daniel Prine Melissa of Bossier City, LA John Edward Prine of Austin, TX Annie Brackett Ben of Sharpsburg, GA Ashley Booth of Macon, GA Allison and Amy Booth of Newnan, GA Great, great nieces and nephews: Haley and Avery Thomas of Spearsville, LA Brady and Kenlee Prine of Bossier City, LA Sarah Ellyn and Caroline Brackett of Sharpsburg, GA And numerous special family and friends who provided loving care for LaLa over the years. The family requests any memorials be made to FBC Farmerville or the LA Baptist Children's Home.
