A celebration of life service for Barbara Lane will be held Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Beulah United Methodist Church, Calhoun, LA with visitation from 11 am to 12 pm, service immediately following at 12 pm. Interment will be in Beulah Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.Barbara was born Dec. 27, 1926 in Snyder, TX and passed peacefully from this life, surrounded by her family, into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Dec. 5, 2018. She lived most of her life in Abilene, TX, moving to Choudrant, LA in 1999. She married Forrest H. Lane, Sr. July 15, 1945, and had four children; Forrest Jr., Judy, Sharon and David. She was a devoted, loving wife and mother, who never tired of caring and nurturing her family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grand, great-grand, and great-great-grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Grace Methodist Church in Abilene, TX for over 60 years, and Beulah United Methodist Church, Calhoun, LA since 1999, and a member of Senior Citizens of Ruston. Her passions were, her faith and family; achieving honors as a 41- year Avon representative; her many friends; and a love of and special green thumb for flowers; traveling to visit family and places of interest; and attending 65 years of Casey reunions.She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Elizabeth Casey, two sisters, Goldie Bennett, Alva Williams (Buddy), two brothers, John Casey (Betty), Mat Casey (Dorothy); two nephews, Charles Williams and Michael Casey.Left to cherish her memory are her children, Forrest Lane, Jr.(Kathleene), of Lago Vista, TX, Judy Watts (Joe) Choudrant, LA, Sharon Sternad (Erik) of Simi Valley, CA, David Lane (Sherry) of Choudrant, LA; eleven grandchildren, Todd Lane, Scott Lane (Kellie), Joe Watts (Stacie),Tim Watts (Rebecca), Amy Ates (Alan), Chuck Fleharty, Leslie Buchanan (Matt), Michelle Collister (Danny), Robin Boiko (Alex), Michael Sternad (Karen), Brandi Gray (Brendan); twenty great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Martha Haag (Dick), Pat Griffin, Jean Coats (Tommy), Jeanie Casey, Ben Casey (Sue), Tom Casey (Lynda) many cousins and a host of beloved friends.Pallbearers will be Todd Lane, Scott Lane, Joe Watts, Tim Watts, Clay Watts and Caleb Watts.
