So many wonderful memories of "Mr. Fred", one of my parents' dear friends, one of my mom's singing buddies. They had so many good times together with James & Estelle and of course Mrs. Darcie. They are all in heaven with Mr. Craighead teaching everyone about Southern Gospel!! My sympathies to all his family. I know you have a big hole in your family now, but he is where he wanted to be. You are in my prayers. Gwenette George Cummings
Pam Morehead Hankins left a message on August 24, 2012:
To most he was "Papaw Fred", but to me he was Grandpa. He was my grandpa and I have so many great memories of him. He taught me how to drive a car. He carried me to more gospel singings than I can even begin to count, and was probably my sister's and my biggest musical supporter. We're all going to miss you, Grandpa, but I know that heavenly chorus you're hearing now is making you smile. I imagine you're even doing some singing now, yourself - something you never did down here. Have fun!! We'll see you later! Pam

He has been Pawpaw Fred ever since I can remember. Always ready for a hug and a kiss when I saw him. And if he had candy in his pocket I got a piece. I know he's dancing up in Heaven.
