Funeral services for Betty F. Thurmon, 81, of Ruston will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 8, 2018 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Ruston. Dr. Michael Hawley and Rev. Paul Watts will officiate. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Ruston under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Sunday, October 7 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.Betty was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church for many years. She worked for the city of Ruston for 35 years. Betty was involved in many activities that included Women of the Moose, Tournament Bowling, fishing and camping, and being a devout card player. She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Thurmon. Left to cherish her memory are her son Tony Thurmon of Houston, TX, her brother Harold Ferguson of Ruston, LA, and several nieces and nephews.Honoring Betty as pallbearers will be Daniel Bailey, Roy Baker, Clyde Pesnell, Scotty Johnson, Mike Robichaux, and Wynne Riser.Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1200 Farmerville Hwy., Ruston, LA 71270.Online condolences may be made to the family at www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.com.
