Funeral Services for Betty McCormick Ward, age 90, of Ruston will be Saturday, October 14, 2023, 2:00 P.M. in Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel of Ruston, LA.  Officiating will be by Rev. Dale Oden, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home.  Visitation is prior to service, Saturday, October 14, 2023, in Kilpatrick Chapel, from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M.  She will be laid to rest at Mulhearn Memorial Park, in Monroe, LA.

Betty Frances McCormick Ward was born on June 18, 1933, to Robert Perry & Florence (Upshaw) McCormick in Laran, LA.  She passed from this life on October 11, 2023.

She spent her life as a devoted wife, mother, and teacher, reaching and touching lives through her career and service as a minister’s wife.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Perry & Florence (Upshaw) McCormick, and her son, Marcus Ward.

She is survived by her husband, Connie Ward of Ruston, LA; daughters, Janita Maxwell and husband James of Monroe, LA, and Angela Mitchell and husband Ricky of Ruston, LA; grandchildren, Casey Laird and husband Alex of Lindale, TX, Molly Mitchell of Tyler, TX; sister, Marilyn Burney and husband Luther of Lafayette, LA; and sisters-in-law, Shirley Hinson of Mobile, AL, and Kathy Burns with husband Floyd of Summerfield, LA.; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and loving friends.

Pallbearers will be Floyd Burns, Chris Burney, Ricky Mitchell, Jason Hinson, and Mike Burney, with Honorary Pallbearer James Maxwell.
