Funeral services for Mrs. Bettye Knight will be 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 16, 2017 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe. Rev. Larry Eubanks will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Calhoun, LA. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe.Mrs. Knight was born June 3, 1937 in Hamburg, AR and passed away on August 12, 2017 in Farmerville, LA. She was a retired endoscopy nurse at St. Francis Medical Center. Mrs. Knight loved gardening, hard work and family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Don Knight; parents, John and Jessie Norrell and brothers, Jim Norrell and Bill Norrell.Mrs. Knight is survived by her sons, John JC Knight and wife Cathy, Jeff Knight and wife Lora, Donnie Knight and wife Jeri; grandchildren, Chelsea Knight McKittrick and husband Chris, Katie Knight Hood and husband Shane, Abbie Knight; great-grandchildren, Drake Hood and Kylie McKittrick; sister, Liz Jones; brother, Cleve Norrell.Pallbearers will be Lloyd Williams, Ronnie Williams, Laron Owens, JC Knight, Jeff Knight, and Donnie Knight.Online condolences may be made to the family at www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.com.Kilpatrick Funeral HomeWest Monroe, LA

My sympathies to you all on the passing of Aunt Bettye. She was a strong and determined lady and I have fond memories of her, most of them centered around Sunday meals with family at Papaw and Memaw's home in Monroe. Spirited discussions were the norm as the entire family had strong opinions and ideas but at the end of the day there was great love for one another. Mom just had surgery so she is unable to attend and we are caregiving for her during her recovery but she sends her sympathies as well. I will always appreciate the love and compassion that your mom and the entire Norrell family showed to my mom when she arrived in the U.S. as a war bride. Mom always felt like Aunt Bettye was like a sister to her. She is now at peace and in company of her mom and dad as well as her brothers and Uncle Don. I hope we can all get together in the near future and relive the fond memories. Hugs to you all.
