Funeral services for Billy Smelley, age 83, of Ruston will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Officiating the services will be Rev. James Evans, Rev. Wayne Evans, and Rev. Dalton Shovan. Interment will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery in Bienville, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Mr. Smelley was born on September 17, 1928 in Bienville, LA and died June 26, 2012 in Monroe, LA following a brief illness. He was a member of Wesley Chapel Methodist Church. Mr. Smelley is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jeanie Ebond Smelley; son, Richard Smelley; granddaughter, Jennifer Smelley Broadway and husband Michael; great grandchildren, Bailey, Memphis, and Paige Broadway; brother, Curtis Smelley and wife Mildred; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ki Henderson, Tommy Hinton, Herman Lenord, Ray Newbold, Leon Staples, and Rusty Strozier. Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M.
