Burton LaCour Wade III was born on July 31, 1985, in Shreveport, Louisiana, and lived most of his life in Monroe, Louisiana. He enjoyed participating in sports and outdoor activities growing up. After high school, he moved to Houston, Texas to complete his degree in computer engineering and technology. He married the love of his life, Julie M. Giffen, in 2012, and they lived and worked in Houston until moving home to Monroe in 2016. Burton was the facility manager at Grace Episcopal Church and School, where he enjoyed many close relationships with the clergy, staff, and faculty. Burton departed this life on September 22, 2022, in Monroe.
Burton is survived by his wife, Julie Giffen Wade, a son, Landry Wilder Wade, and a daughter, Olivia Marie Wade, and they were the lights in his life. He is also survived by his parents, Nancy and Burton Wade Jr.; sister, Kate Wade Escobedo (Jose); niece, Emma Escobedo; nephew, Philip Rubi; aunt, Kellye Wade Montjoy (Wilson II); uncle, William Manning (Martha) and cousins Wilson Montjoy III, Wade Montjoy, and Maggie Manning. He was preceded in death by a son, Miller LaCour Wade, maternal grandparents Louise and Philip Manning Jr.; paternal grandparents, Drake and Burton Wade Sr.; aunt, Kathy Wade and uncle, Philip Manning III.
Services will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at Grace Episcopal Church in Monroe, Louisiana. Visitation will be at 2 PM in Kilbourne Hall, with the service to follow at 3 PM in the church.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Grace Episcopal Church or the charity of your choice.
