Charles Edwin Simmons of West Monroe was born August 12, 1953 and passed away June 4, 2023.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Johnnie Simmons; and wife Rita Ann Inzina Simmons.

Charles worked in construction, farming and managed a grocery store. He also worked for an advertising agency, booking bands in the eighties. Charles was very outgoing and loved playing with his children and fishing.

Charles is survived by his children Jamie Simmons and wife Tricia, and his mother Rachel; Amy Marie Inzina; Charles (Chuck) Edwin Simmons, Jr., and wife Melissa Ann, Jason Simmons, and their mother Betty; grandchildren Jeremy, Joshua, Ashley, Ian, Taylor, Jason and Joshua-Jay; brothers Eddie Simmons and wife Debbie, and Ron Simmons and wife Sandra; sister Tricia Thompson and husband Kevin; former wife Marilyn; numerous nieces and nephews.

Little Chuck mentioned one of his fondest memories was when his father bought him a bicycle and taught him how to ride. Amy said I remember when I was about 5 years old and my dad laid down on a sofa in my maternal grandparents’ house and let me put makeup on him! I remember even putting those clip on earrings on him too! I had so much fun! His face was all painted up but he knew it would make me happy so he let me do it! Lol! Jason said When I was a kid, Dad would give me rides in his wheelchair.
