Funeral services for Christine Browder, 95, of Chatham will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 5, 2023 in the chapel of First Baptist Church in Chatham, Louisiana. Brother Johnnie Smith and Brother Tim Atkins will officiate. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chatham under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes in West Monroe, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe, Louisiana.
Christine was born on July 25, 1927 in Eros, Louisiana and passed away on March 29, 2023 in Chatham. She will always be remembered for her hard work and always putting others before herself. Christine along with her late husband, W.L. Browder owned and operated Browder Lumber Co. for 43 years. Many people benefitted from the Lumber Company located in Chatham, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, Percy and Juette Moseley Thompson; brothers, Peck Thompson and Dutch Thompson; sisters, Vivian Pool, Dolly Pool, Billie Shell, and Doris Maedle.
Christine is survived by her children, Randy Browder and wife Sandra “Peanut”, Freddie Browder and wife Carlette and Carol “Missy” Hicks and husband Dan; five grandchildren, Lisa Browder Pate and husband Mark, Teresa Browder, Crystal Browder, Jennifer Browder Colvin and husband Rusty, Ryan Hicks and wife Nickie; eight great-grandchildren, Lexi McKey, Kristin Maxwell, Cody Reynolds, Cejay Colvin, Dillon McKey, Casey Quarles, Ezra Hicks, and Jonah Hicks; six great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other cherished family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Tracy Beamesderfer, George Gryder, Cejay Colvin, Ryan Hicks, Ezra Hicks, and Jonah Hicks.
Christine’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the nurses of Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care. They would also like to thank her caregivers, Delilah Truelove, Nettie Sharbono, and our God send, Stephanie Springfield, who all graciously took care of Christine. A special thank you to Natalie Ward for all her love and support for our family.
