Funeral services for Dana (Danny) Claude Owen, age 72, of Ruston will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Ruston, LA.  Officiating the service will be Bro. Brad Jones.

A visitation will be Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Ruston.

Dana was born January 4, 1949 in Ruston and died December 10, 2021 in Ruston following a lengthy illness. He was an independent truck driver and was known as “Cat Squirrel” while on the road.  Danny made numerous friends while driving truck that were like brothers to him. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jack Owen and James Owen.

Danny is survived by his sister, Betty Owen Shaw (Donnie Leger); sons:  Heath Owen,  Danny Owen, David Owen (Tiffany); daughter’s: Christine Gonzalez (Jae), Stephanie Owen (Matt Grage), Danielle McKinney (Jerry); grandchildren: Anthony Owen, Brandon Owen, Madison Owen, Alyssa Owen, Tyler Seibert (Sakuro), Hunter Seibert, Cote’ Seibert, Christopher Owen, Kayla (Aka Indian Girl) Owen, Melanie Owen, Logan Owen, Devin Canik (dad Mike Canik), Preston Grage, Braedyn, Kendyll, Elena, Tripp, Armelle; and six great grandchildren.

When Danny wasn’t driving truck across the country he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  Danny enjoyed fishing and hunting.  He loved a good game of Hot Seat or Uno.  Danny could tell some of the greatest stories that would make you laugh for hours each time you thought of them.  Danny will forever hold a special place in everyone’s heart.
