Bobby E. Price of Ruston, LA went on to be with the Lord on August 1, 2012 at the age of 74 after a courageous battle with cancer. He entered the Lord's presence, who he faithfully served for many years. Bobby was born in Henderson, TX on November 21, 1937. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years-Patsy Ruth Patrick Price; beloved and admired mother-Maurine Grigsby Forester; dearest daughter Kami Price Proulx and her husband-Danny Proulx; revered son Barry Price and his wife-Penny Price; and cherished granddaughter Megan Price. He also enjoyed time with Penny's two sons-Josh and Tyler Isenhour. Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Earl Price and sister-Cheryl Abrams. He graduated from Grand Prairie High School in Grand Prairie, TX, received his undergraduate degree in engineering from University of Texas at Arlington, his Masters Degree from Oklahoma State University and Doctorate Degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Bobby taught Civil Engineering for over 30 years at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA. He was a member and held leadership positions in various engineering organizations such as NSPE, ASCE, and LES. Bobby volunteered his time, resources, and energies at Temple Baptist Church, Life Choices, Habitat for Humanity, Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club, and was involved in civic and community organizations around Ruston. Bobby was a member of Temple Baptist Church for over 40 years where served in many capacities such as Sunday School teacher, ordained Deacon, committees, mission trips and outreach events. The family requests instead of flowers, donations be made to Temple Baptist Church Building Fund, Life Choices, and Habitat for Humanity, or charity of your choice. Pallbearers will be Kevin Crosby, Randy Hammons, Ali Mustapha, Jason Thornhill, Marshall Hill, Richard Durrett and Billy Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be the Adult 6 Men's Sunday School Class. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Temple Baptist Church on Sunday, August 5, 2012. The memorial service is 10:00 A.M. at Temple Baptist Church on Monday, August 6, 2012 followed by burial at Pines Memorial Garden under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. When I opened the latest issue of the LES Journal and found that Dr. Price had been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award, I wanted to e-mail my congratulations and was so very disappointed to read that I could not. I graduated from La. Tech in 1977, and Dr. Price's smiling face is still one of my fondest memories from my college years. He was a wonderful gentleman who was much loved by all of his students. The memories of his kindness, patience, constant good humor and humility have stayed with me throughout my life. The world is a richer place for everyone who knew him.

To the family of Dr. Price: Please accept my deepest sympathies. I will always remember Dr. Price. Dr. Price was my academic advisor. He carved out a schedule that allowed me to return to college as a "non-traditional" student - working full-time while attending Louisiana Tech part-time - to complete the Civil Engineering B.S. degree program in 5 years. He then saw me through it. Dr. Price was my teacher. I enjoyed his enthusiastic methods of teaching. Many times, I repeat things he said in the classroom or share learning examples he used with colleagues. Dr. Price delivered the commencement address at my graduation from Louisiana Tech in 1999. How fitting and fortunate for me. The man who introduced me to the progream, and helped guide me through it, was now sending me out with inspirational words. I still have the copy of that address which he gave to me. Dr. Price, four years later, signed my Professional Engineering License. In some small way, I know that he was proud of me when he signed it, and I'm sure he was smiling, knowing that another one of his many thousands of students had listened to what he had to say, put it to use, and was well on their way to advancing their professional career in Civil Engineering. Dr. Price will always be remembered and respected by me, and all those students and working professionals that knew him.

Dr. Price's influence on the students he taught and mentored is immeasurable. I have been gone from LA Tech for 20 years, but I can still picture him talking with me or another student. He helped me see the importance of an individual's integrity. He was instrumental in molding the lives of many good engineers. I am privileged to have been touched by his life. To his family, I pray for your comfort during this time.

Bobby Price was a wonderful person and demonstrated his Christianity in all of his actions.

Between Bobby's teaching and leadership in national engineering organizations, he has left a lasting legacy that we will all benefit from. Bobby was one of the true gentlemen of our profession, leading with his example. I will always remember him as one of the kindest individuals who I've ever had the honor to count as a friend and colleague.

Patsy, It was our pleasure to get to know Bobby both through NSPE and NCEES. He was a true christian gentleman and a great friend. His leadership and professioalism will be missed in the engineering profession. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Words cannot convey the sadness I felt when I learned of Mr. Bobby's passing!! My thoughts and prayers are with you all and I praise God that Mr. Bobby is in heaven and is no longer suffering!! Patsy, I am sorry to hear of Bobby's passing. Bobby was a great friend to Christopher and me during our struggles. Having folks like you and Bobby in our lives helped us to keep our eyes on God, knowing that He would and does supply all of our needs. The love you two showed my family will never be forgotten. Bobby will be missed. My prayers are with you and your family during this time.

Dr. Price was a huge influence on me, starting even before I began classes at Louisiana Tech in 1989. He stood out among an excellent civil engineering faculty at Tech. His red pen was legendary, but he challenged us to raise the bar in everything we did in his classes. He was the primary reason I chose water resources engineering as a career specialty. I am so sorry to hear of his loss. He was a tremendous asset to the engineering profession.

Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of Dr. Price. I remember him fondly from working with him in the 70s in Bogard Hall. Always upbeat and witty, a gentleman, and a pleasure to know. He definitely had a servant heart.

I am sorry to hear the news of this nice man's passing.

I will always remember Dr. Price as a great man and a wonderful teacher. He set me on my path from college to the real world, and I would not be where I am today without him. He had such a positive influence on my life, and I am sure the same for many others.

Seems like just yesterday that I met Bobby as he was installed as the NSPE President. He will be missed by his fellow engineers.

Barbara and I regret that we cannot be with you, but we are thankful for all the joyous times we had together and the pleasure of visiting in Ruston. Our prayers are with you.

My condolences to the Price family. You are in my prayers. Bobby was a great leader in the National Society of Professional Engineers NSPE and served as our President several years ago. He was a true gentleman and he always encouraged me to be involved in the organization through his words and his actions.

I can truly say that Bobby Price was one of the finest Christian men I've ever known. First of all, he loved his Lord and served Him faithfully.
