Drexel B. Simpson, 54, of Monroe, LA passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016. A gathering of family and friends of Mr. Simpson will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. on Monday evening, May 2, 2016 in the Chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, 1200 Lamy Lane, Monroe, LA.A long-time resident of Monroe, Drexel was a business machine repairman for MOEbiz and a veteran of the United States Navy.He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Simpson and his brother, Phillip Simpson.Survivors include his two daughters, Heather Simpson of Ringgold, GA, Kathryne Knight and husband, Jacob of West Monroe; son, Daniel Simpson; three grandsons, Nikolas Pierson, Aaron Holley, and Brylee Simpson; his mother, Patty Nivens; sister, Carol Gibson; brother, James Simpson; two nephews and a niece; and his e Kim Freppon.

I was very sorry to hear of Drexel's passing. I met him while he was fixing our copy machine at work and became fast friends. Anytime he would come to fix anything in our firm, he would always have the biggest smile on his face and always stop by and say hello. We will miss him dearly. He was such a nice and genuine person and spoke of his family with such love and appreciation. Drexel...you will be missed buddy.
