Funeral services for Edgar Moss will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday January 6, 2018 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Rev. Milton Pray and Bro. Patrick Bayles will officiate. Interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.Edgar was born November 6, 1923 in Fortuna, California to John Edgar Moss and Florence Halford Moss. Edgar passed from this life on January 4, 2018 and entered the pearly gates of Heaven to join his other family members.He had many jobs throughout his lifetime. He started working at a very young age helping his father with timber. Edgar was drafted in World War II at the age of 18. He fought in the Battle of Anzio Beach for 4 months. After surviving that fight he was later wounded in the invasion of Southern France in 1944. He received his purple heart while on the hospital ship. He retired from Olinkraft after 30 years. He never liked or believed in the word hero. But Daddy, you were our HERO!!!!He was preceded in death by his wife, Janie Case Moss; twin sister, Edna Moss; brother, Earl Moss; sister, Earlene Fleming; son-in-law, David Harbor; and granddaughter, Jennifer Leach.He is survived by his children; Mary Harbor, Sharon Rose Hardwick and husband Les, John Edgar Moss, Mike Moss and wife Verna; 2 grandsons, Brandon Harbor and Justin Canterberry; 1 granddaughter, Pam Harbor; 1 great-grandson, Shelby Raney, 1 great-great-granddaughter, Addison Raney; several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; special niece, Tammy McConathy; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
