Funeral Services for Emmitt Alvin Moore, 84, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, 1200 Lamy Lane in Monroe, LA.  Interment will follow at Chase Cemetery in Chase, LA.  Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Monroe.

Emmitt was a graduate of Wisner High School and the University of Louisiana at Monroe (formerly known as Northeast Louisiana University).  He was retired from Louisiana Power and Light (now Entergy) in the electronics department.

Emmitt is preceded in death by his parents A.D. Moore and Marvine Moore as well as mother and father-in-law Margaret Chapman and Carl Chapman.

Survivors left to mourn Emmitt’s passing are his wife of 64 years, Melba Moore, two sons:  Clifton Moore and wife Sharon and Mark Moore of West Monroe;  one grandson Joshua Moore and one granddaughter Whitney Moore of Monroe; brother David Moore and wife Annette of West Monroe and sister-in-law Reta Enright and husband Les Enright of Sicily Island, LA.

Emmitt had a real zest for adventure.  His dream was to travel.  The day after he retired he fulfilled his dream as he and his wife became full time R.V.ers.  He loved meeting people and talking.  He never met a stranger.

Services are under the care and direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home-West Monroe.
