Funeral services for Evie Chapman, 97, will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Eubanks officiating. Interment will follow at Rocky Branch Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the church.Evie was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, A.L. Joy Chapman; her parents, John Henry and Daisy Moss; brother, Otis Moss; and sisters, Lucy Chapman, Nettie Chapman and Rosie Higgins.Evie had many wonderful loves in her life including her storytelling, her delicious cooking and her gift of gardening and canning. She was born in Foules, LA and was raised in Sicily Island. During her life, Evie worked at Keesler Air Force Base in Gulfport, MS, drove a school bus, and also worked at Cooks Beauty Supply, all while being an amazing homemaker for her family who she loved and adored. Evie was also a longtime member at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.Evie is survived by her sons, Paul Chapman and wife Mary Sue of Rocky Branch, LA and Dr. Joel D. Chapman and wife Patty of Mt. Pleasant, TX; grandchildren, Melanie Chapman, Monica Newcomb and husband Gary, Jared Chapman and wife Amanda, Laura Hampton and husband Jeremy, Michelle Thomas and husband Josh, Stuart Chapman and wife Devanee and Anna Goodnight and husband Nathan; 18 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.Online condolences may be made to the family at www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.comKilpatrick Funeral HomeWest Monroe, LA
