FOYE NOLAN SMITHJanuary 18, 1930 November 30, 2018Foye Nolan-Smith, 88, of Farmerville, LA passed away on Friday, November 30th, 2018. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 3rd at 10:30 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, 3501 Hwy 828, Farmerville, LA. Officiating the service will be Rev. Paul Carter and Rev. Rubin Weaver. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 2nd at the church, 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Antioch Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home.Foye was born on January 18th, 1930 in the Antioch Community, the eighth of twelve children to the union of Walter Palmer and Sally Armstrong-Nolan. She is preceded in death by her six brothers and five sisters. Foye was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, former State Representative James Peyton Smith. Her son, Max Graham Smith, also preceded his mother in deathand her daughter-in-law, Joanne Smith and two grandsons, Nathaniel Smith and David Mashaw.Foye was the oldest member as well a lifelong member of Antioch Baptist Church. Her Grandfather, Samuel Rate Nolan, was both co-founder and the first pastor. She faithfully served in various capacities for many years, especially enjoying singing in the choir, quartets and attending Sunday School.Foye retired from Northeast Louisiana University (ULM) with 25 years service in the Administrative Payroll Division.She was the Past Matron, Order of Eastern Star, #207.Survivors include two sons, Brad Smith; Danny Smith (Ann): two daughters, Roslyn Smith (Stan): Jayne Smith-Green (Bobby): 11 grandchildren: Brad, Jr. (Michelle): Phillip (Tiffany) Kristy: Daniel: Jonathan (Katy): Joseph: Brandi (Marc): Jennifer (Wayne): Leslie (Joshua): Janelle (George): Chad (Morgan): 24 great-grandchildren: 4 great-great grandchildren. Sister-n-law, Francis Smith, and Brother-n-law, Guy Parsons survivors, were dear to her heart.Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Rita Halley-Dougherty Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.The family will always treasure the love, loyalty and delectable dinners provided at our home.
