Mrs. Williams passed away peacefully on August 15, 2018 at Northern Louisiana Medical Center. She was a member of Corinth Missionary Baptist Church in Stephens until she moved to Ruston to be closer to family. She then became a member of Longstraw Baptist Church in Longstraw, LA.She was preceded in death by her husband L.L. Red Williams, sisters Lena Autrey and Minnie Tribble, brother Charles Hall, grandson Joe Williams, and great great granddaughter Mattie Jean Posey. She is survived by her children, SueAnn Herter and Dolph Williams (Kim), her brother James Hall and sister Betty Sue Pennington. Nana was very proud of this 5 generational family. She married L.L. Red Williams in Sept. of 1946 in Magnolia, Arkansas. This union was blessed with two children. Following the adventures of raising their family, the couple ventured into businesses of their own. I would dare to say they would be considered entrepreneurs starting several businesses during their time together. In 1977, they moved to Kellys, LA and founded the very popular business, Wil-Mart. Mrs. Williams enjoyed coming up with new recipes and trendy names for her frozen drinks. They retired and moved to their dream spot on Petit Jean Mountain in 1985 where she enjoyed entertaining family and friends. Many enjoyable summers were spent on the mountain at Nana by grand and great grandchildren and their friends; first on the agenda was to make a grocery list with everyone favorites. Some of her favorite hobbies were quilting and gardening. Her entire family has unique and/or personalized quilts that she hand-made. Her yard was always a trademark, showcasing her love for flowers. If you asked her a question about plants, she usually knew the answer.Honoring Hazel as pallbearers will be her grandson Heath Williams, grandson-in-laws Scott Duke and Danny Austin, and great grandson in-laws Kelly Bagwell, Gene Posey, and Jonathan Wheelis. The family would like to thank the caregivers in the skilled unit at Alpine Nursing Home and Rehab for the wonderful care provided to our loved one over the past 3 weeks. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to St. Jude Children Research Hospital or to Longstraw Baptist Church.Online condolences may be made to the family at www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.com.
