Funeral services for Henry James Price will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 2, 2018 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe officiated by Rev. Doug Fulenwider and Rev. Glenn Price. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick Serenity Gardens in West Monroe. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.Henry James Price was born March 3, 1931, and passed from this life on Monday, July 30, 2018.Mr. Price's greatest accomplishment was the loving example he set for his family. He also faithfully served his country in the Army during the Korean War, and his community for 32 years as a firefighter, captain and fire prevention chief of the West Monroe Fire Department. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Dorothy Price, and his beloved granddaughter, Tammy Simpson Henry.Left to cherish his memory are his children: Cathy Simpson (Samuel Bartley), Alan Price, Don Price (Glenda), all of West Monroe, and Glenn Price (Lisa) of Pineville, Louisiana; twelve grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. Additional survivors include two sisters, Mary Ann “Sis” Phillips of Shreveport, La., and Ellouise Walker (Benny) of Rayville, La., one sister-in-law, Patricia Thompson (Alan) of Holly Ridge, La, and countless nieces, nephews and close friends.Pallbearers will be grandsons Sammy Simpson, Brandon Price, Nathan Price and Jodie Tomlinson, nephews Tony Walker and Wesley Price.
