Funeral services for James “Jim” Ruff 89 of Calhoun, LA will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Church of the Redeemer, 715 Cypress Street West Monroe with Pastor Steve Wilkins officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Calhoun, LA Visitation will be held Tuesday from 10:00 AM until service time at the church under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
James was born June 24, 1931 in Fawn Grove, PA and passed away July 30, 2020 in Calhoun, LA. James was an Aerospace Engineer with Lockheed-Martin for 40 years. He was a faithful member of Church of the Redeemer and was an active sports enthusiast; playing softball and tennis, just to name a few. James always loved to put on a good firework show. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Lynn Ruff Horner and brother, Marcus Nathaniel Ruff.
James is survived by his wife of 67 years Dorothy L. Brown Ruff; daughter Carol Sue Ruff Medlin and husband Ronnie; grandchildren Amber M. Medlin Higginbotham and husband Scott, Emily K. Medlin Gautreaux and husband CeJay, Timothy B. Medlin and wife Mary, Nathanael T. Medlin and wife Amy and Katey W. Medlin; great-grandchildren, Molly Rose Higginbotham, Owen McVea Higginbotham, Lilah Kate Higginbotham, Persephone Joli Gautreaux, Elliette Dot Gautreaux, Emma Catherine Medlin and Lilly Marie Medlin.
Pallbearers will be Clay Alexander, Ian Alexander, Seth Pryor, Chris Pryor, Stephen Rockett, and Luke Brewer.
