Jamie Roy Moorhead a loving husband and father to one, entered Heaven’s gates on November 5, 2022 at the age of 48.
Jamie is survived by his wife Karen Kirkham Moorhead of 25 years; son Thatcher “Thatchie” Moorhead; mother Joye Pamplin; brother Bobby Bennett; numerous brothers and sister-in-laws; special extended family Sweetie and Pappy. He is preceded in death by biological father James Elmore and adopted father, Jimmy Moorhead; grandmother, Marie Bennett; mother and father-in-law Richard and Jerry Kirkham.
He was born on August 30, 1974 in West Monroe, Louisiana, to Joye and James Elmore. On April 26, 1997 he married the love of his life. Jamie was a pipe welder by trade, loved fishing, hunting and spending days with Pappy. Jamie spent his entire life doing for others, no matter how he was feeling; he always had a big smile on his face and a strong handshake for you. He is a forever West Monroe Rebel fan enjoying years of cooking and tailgating for the football team. The family of 3 were inseparable.
Funeral services for Jamie Roy Moorhead will be held at 12:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Fair Park Baptist Church with Rev. Waymon Warren officiating, assisted by Donnie Sellers. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Smith, Heath Smith, Stan Ratcliffe, Stacy Hatten, Kevin Crosby and Shad Green.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Dewayne Neely, Mike Thrasher, Kayne McCoy, Eddie Stephens and Jeremy Roberts.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Fair Park Baptist Church, The Lipa Family, NELA Dental and Glenwood ER Staff including Dr. Palmer and Dr. Vincent Forte for the unwavering and dedicated care over the past 18 years.
