This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118: 24.Jane Halford Birdsong Hayden passed away at home Wednesday, May 16, 2018. A visitation will be held at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe, 1200 Lamy Lane, on Saturday, May 19, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A private interment will follow at a later date. Jane was born February 25, 1931 in Memphis, Tennessee to John Harvey and Ida Mae Halford Birdsong, Sr. Jane family then moved to Monroe, Louisiana where her father established Royal Feed & Seed. She graduated from Neville High School in 1948, and then attended LSU earning a B. S. in Education in 1953. Seeking to further her education, she returned to LSU and earned a Masters of Education in 1957, specializing in Special Education. Jane taught at Northeast Louisiana Cerebral Palsy School for 18 years devoting her time to children with special needs. Jane had a special place in her heart for every one of her students. After retirement, Jane took her passion for travel and turned it into a business, Accent Travel. Jane travelled the world insuring that her clients would have the trip of their lifetime. She was also a long time member of the Potpourri Book Club and a founding member of Grand Destinations Travel Club travelling extensively with these ladies. She was also a lifetime member of Grace Episcopal Church.Jane is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Lovell Eugene Hayden, III; her two daughters, Nancy Hayden Burch and Martha Hayden Woods and her husband, Harold; grandchild Claire Burch Delerno and husband, Jesse; great-grandchild Madeleine Jane Delerno. She is also survived by her brother, John H.
