Interment will follow at Kilpatrick Serenity Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.John was born February 15, 1936 in Dodson, LA and passed away August 9, 2018 in Eros, LA. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Vicky Lynn and a brother, Gordon Carpenter. John was a member of Welcome Home Church of God and was self-employed contractor.John is survived by his wife, Julia Carpenter; sons, John Paul Carpenter and wife Robin, Dennis Carpenter and Terry Carpenter and wife Tina; daughter, Denise Pixley and husband Larry; brother, Travis Carpenter and wife Janice; sisters, Nell Terrell and husband Lester, Joyce LaBaron, Angel Shirley, Agness Reynolds and Ruth Coolman.Pallbearers will be Bobby Carpenter, Jordan Pixley, Scott Carpenter, Drew Williams, Richard Morris, Tyler Ball, Sha Etheridge, Andy Hudson; honorary pallbearers will be James George, Travis Carpenter and Larry Pixley.Visitation will be Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.comKilpatrick Funeral HomeWest Monroe, LA

I Believe I can honestly say if he were half the man they demonstrate to me to be, he must have been a very good man, and from what I understand he may have been twice the man.
