Johnny Hebert, age 83, was called home to heaven on Monday, September 17, 2012. Born on March 7, 1929, Johnny proudly served in the U.S. Navy and was a true man of God, accomplished electrical contractor, skilled outdoorsman, avid gardener, master chef, survivalist, innovator, humorist, and quintessential football fanatic. Composed of strong character and a keen business acumen, Johnny held numerous leadership roles, including elder of the University Church of Christ, president of Valley Electric, and a founding board member for both Red River Bank and CenturyLink. Most importantly, Johnny tempered the strength of his values and principles with a gentle spirit; in turn befriended and beloved by so many for his warmth, wisdom, and generosity, he served as the spiritual foundation and role-model of the family he so dearly treasured. Johnny is preceded in death by his mother, father, brothers, and sisters. He is survived by his wife, sweetheart, and best-friend of 64 years, Katherine Hebert; his daughter Glenda and her husband Ira of Muscle Shoals, AL; his son Terry and his wife Jo of West Monroe; his grandson Chris of Atlanta, GA; his grandson Chad and wife Kristi of West Monroe; and his great-granddaughters Holli and Landri. Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Stinson, Eddie Spillers, Ken Williams, Jeremy Ratcliff, Buddy Hollis, Kevin Meyers, Blake Chatelain, and Pipes Barham. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Red River Bank board of directors. A special heartfelt thanks goes to Dr. Larry Olinde, Dr. Owen Meyers, and Dr. Virginia Gonzalez, the St. Francis Medical Center staff, and the Fresenius Medical Care – West Monroe staff. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 19, from 5-7 p.m., and memorial services will be held on Thursday, September 20, at 11 a.m., both at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe.
