Johnny Keith Paine -- what a great, great guy and friend! I grew up in Bernice, LA with Johnny and the other Paine siblings - Jerry, Wanda, and Pam. In our early days in Bernice, Johnny Paine, Sammy Johnson, and I and others from time to time were the best of buddies. We had a lot of fun and great times together, and I now have a lot of great memories of those early Bernice days to cherish! Johnny and I spoke from time to time over the years via phone, but I am most thankful to have had the opportunity to see and visit with Johnny at the BHS Reunion this past April. Always a gentleman and friend, we had a good visit. It is sad to know that he is gone, but I know that he is in a better place now, free of suffering. Johnny will certainly be missed by a special group of people because Johnny made the lives of the members of that special group much better and happier. For all of those reasons, and more, Johnny will never be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Paine family, especially to Jerry, Wanda, and Pam. What a great family for whom Albert and Marie were responsible for creating! Love to all in this time of sadness.
