Funeral services for Joseph LeRoy Womack, 84, of Monroe will be held at 2:30 PM, Sunday, November 12, 2017 at First United Methodist Church in Monroe, LA with Rev. Lynn Malone and J. Roddy Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery.Mr. Womack passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, peacefully at his residence. He was born on December 8, 1932. Visitation will be held Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Monroe, LA.Mr. Womack was predeceased in death by his father, Oscar L. Womack, Jr.; mother, Andie Z. Womack; infant sister, Linda Annette Womack; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Annie Mae Coverdale, Milton Coverdale.Mr. Womack was a graduate of Neville High School and Northeast State College (now N.L.U. in Monroe, LA). He also was a graduate of the college R.O.T.C. program. He actively served with honor his country in the Army attaining the rank of Captain. He had an incredible and meticulous work ethic all of his life beginning as a young teenage local newspaper carrier. In adulthood he held positions of administration with several heavy equipment companies, a business enterprise for Mr. James A. Noe, and lastly, as an acquisition Lease Agent for various companies throughout the United States.He especially enjoyed recreational time spent with family and friends on the Ouachita River and houseboat, Egret. He also loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and deer and elk hunting, too.Survivors include his wife of 62 years, JoAnn Walsworth Womack; son, Eric Womack (Emily); granddaughter, Ellie; daughter, Erin Davenport (Erik); grandsons, Hayden, Harrison, Grant; granddaughter, Marissa; son, Jonathan Womack (Leslie); granddaughters, Kaleigh, Macie; sister, Glenda Womack Adams; and sister-in-Law, Meribeth Heye (Steve); nieces, Jill and Jody Adams and nephew, Kevin Adams.Pallbearers will be: Gerald Arrant, Erik Davenport, Kevin Adams, Bob Sale, Ken Cook, and James Herron.Honorary Pallbearers will be Hayden and Harrison Holt.Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Monroe, LA, or the charity of your choice
