Funeral services for Joyce Williamson Lovett, 89, of Calhoun, LA will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 8, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Calhoun. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Calhoun under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Visitation will be Sunday, October 7 from 5-8 PM at the First Baptist Church in Calhoun, LA.Joyce was born in Simsboro, LA, on August 29, 1929 and passed away on October 5, 2018 in Choudrant, LA. Though devastated at the loss of Nana, the family rejoices in knowing that she will spend Eternity with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Joyce graduated from Louisiana Tech with a BS in Dietetics and a Masters in Nutrition. She worked as a Dietician for E. A. Conway Hospital and was a nutritionist for the State of Louisiana for many years. She was a loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother. She and Jerry raised their family with strong Christian values and taught them to treat all people as equal. Joyce was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Calhoun where she taught Sunday school for many years. Joyce hobbies included quilting, working in her yard, and looking for antiques. She was also an avid reader. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Wesley and Carrie Williamson; her husband, Jerry L. Lovett, Sr.; grandson, Garrison Barr; and 3 brothers: Wayne, Bobby, and Jimmy Tip Williamson.Left to cherish her memory are her children: Jerry L. Lovett, Jr. and wife Amelia of Harrison, AR, Julie Lovett Aswell and husband Werner of Calhoun, and Lori Lovett Barr and husband Gary of Choudrant grandchildren: Emily Aswell Housley and husband Jeffrey, Wesley Lovett, Taylor Aswell, Kari Aswell, Claire Barr, Ethan Barr, and Jackson Barr; great granddaughter, Emori Anne Coker; brother Don Williamson and wife Eddie Jo; sisters-in-law: Sandra Williamson and Jeanne Williamson; and a host of nieces and nephews.Honoring Joyce as pallbearers are Ethan Barr, Jackson Barr, Wesley Lovett, Taylor Aswell, Jeffrey Housley, and James Futrell.
