Kenneth Kenny Jack Shumway, Jr., 60, passed away on October 20, 2017 in Shreveport, LA . He was born on February 11, 1957 in Phoenix, AZ to Kenneth Jack Shumway, Sr. and Clelia Frittelli who have preceded him in death. Kenny, husband of Sandy, was father to Miranda, Theresa and husband Patrick, David and wife Cindel, and Michael and wife Anjelica. He was also the loving grandfather of Natalie, Cheyenne, Tristan, Collin, Aiden, and Natasha. He is survived by his younger sisters, Nancy and Sandra.Kenny was born in Phoenix, Arizona but was raised in Los Lunas, New Mexico. He graduated from Los Lunas High School, served an LDS mission in Mexico and graduated from the University of New Mexico with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He had a career in the paper industry as a mechanical engineer and lived in Alabama, Ohio, and Louisiana.Kenny always wanted to learn new things. He loved tinkering, photography, gardening, astronomy, inventing, experimenting with cooking, being outside, bird watching, honey bees, woodworking, butterflies and his dog, Sasha. He was a dreamer who wanted to see it all and do it all.Kenny was an old soul. His gentle spirit defined him. Not only was he set apart for the strength of his mind, but the strength of his heart. He was a friend to all who knew him. His character spoke volumes for his belief that actions speak louder than words. He taught us that love is of more value than a dollar ever could be. His favorite thing to say was Life is a journey, but to die will be an awfully big adventure by J.M. Berrie (Peter Pan).He did not believe that death is the end, he believed that it is the start of a new beginning. He is loved and missed Kenny we will see you again!
