A Celebration of Life Service for Larry Worsham, 77, will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Cypress Street Church of God, 1401 Cypress Street, West Monroe, LA with Pastor Ray Owens and Brother Karvin Adams officiating. After a brief illness, Larry passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on December 22, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Worsham & Alora Puckett Worsham. As a member of Cypress Street Church of God, Larry enjoyed singing bass in several quartets including the Traveler’s Quartet of Monroe, LA and the Reunion Quartet of Cypress Street Church, West Monroe, LA.
After graduating from West Monroe High School he joined the Air Force and was stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii, where he met his wife Priscilla. While in Hawaii, he also worked nights as a radio announcer at a country & rock station. Following his discharge from the Air Force, he returned to West Monroe, LA where he worked at KUZN Radio/TV in West Monroe, KNOE Radio/TV in Monroe & built the radio station KMYQ in Bastrop, LA.
His love for electronics landed him several jobs including Radio/TV engineer, repairing radios/TV and anything needing repair. He opened Larry’s CB Shop in West Monroe, and after closing the shop, he went to work for Saint Francis Medical Center, Monroe, as a Bio-Med Tech/Clinical Engineering Department and retired after 20 years of service.
Much like his dad, Larry never met a stranger and loved to talk and tell stories and jokes to anyone who would listen to him and even to some who didn’t. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Priscilla Worsham, his children, Cliff Worsham (Canada), Dee Worsham (WM), Robert Worsham & wife Cynthia (WM), and Michael Tobin & wife Donna (Colorado); his grandchildren, Cheyenne Jordan, Nathan Worsham, Haley Worsham, Max Worsham, Sam Tobin & Maddalyn Doughtie; one brother, Jerry Worsham (Calhoun), and one sister, Jeanie Acord (TX).
