Marie “Cookie” Walter was born in Ouachita Parish on July 25, 1941 and passed away at her daughter’s home in West Monroe on May 2, 2018.

Cookie lived life to it’s fullest. She brought fun wherever she went. She modeled a positive spirit and her legacy of forward thinking is one her children hope they have inherited.

She loved to sing. She led worship at her church, sang solos, and harmonized with her sister, Sharon. She was a member of the “Gospel Express” singing group in the 80’s. She sang for the last time with Chaplain Ricky Baker of Louisiana Hospice a week before she died – “Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)”. Cookie loved to dance and often line danced at the WO Senior Center. Her favorite hobby was traveling. Her suitcase was always ready for a quick trip. Cookie was a retired hairdresser.

She loved God and wanted all her friends and family to “be ready” so she could see them again one day. Cookie attended The Assembly West Monroe.

Cookie is preceded in death by her parents, George Noel Daniel and Evie Estelle Hobbs Daniel and her brother, Doyle C. Daniel.

She is survived by her loving husband, Andrew T.
