Mark Jones, 64, of West Monroe, passed away August 23, 2017 after a short illness.He grew up in Bradley and Ashdown, Arkansas and spent most of his adult life in and around West Monroe. Mark was a long time employee of Auto Shred of Louisiana. Music was his passion and he was once a drummer with the bands Blue Sage and Backwater. His son Jack shared his love of music and the drums and is presently an educator and performer in the Atlanta, Georgia area. Mark's proudest moment was when Jack received his Master's in Music.Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Maxine Jones and step-son, Thad McDonald. He is survived by his son, Jack Jones; brothers, Doug Jones and wife Linda, and John Jones and wife Barbara; nieces Tami Barnard (his texting buddy), Amber Jones, Anna Maxwell, Amy McCole, one aunt and 4 cousins. Mark kept many of his friends and family close and will be fondly remembered by Ingrid and Alan Austin, Helen Kolokouris, Custer Kolokouris, Gary Galloway, Deanne Keltner and Roger Stoffer.A memorial service will be held on September 2, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Greek Orthodox Church, 2011 Forsythe Avenue, Monroe, LA.

I spoke to Mark on a regular basis. Aside from Business, we often spoke about music as I am a musician as well. He was a great man, and Though I never met him in person, I will miss our talks. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and anyone else that had the pleasure of knowing him.
