Funeral services for Marvis Modell “Mo” Robinson, age 77, of Ruston, LA will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at Grace United Methodist Church in Ruston, LA.  Rev. Bob Deich will officiate. Interment will follow at Salem Cemetery in Dubach, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.

Mo was born on August 2, 1940 in Downsville, LA and passed away on January 6, 2018 in Ruston, LA. Spending time with his family and friends meant so much to him. He graduated from Ruston High School in 1958 where he was an All-State Offensive Lineman on the football team and went on to play football at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. Mo served in the United States Army and worked for Davison Transport in Ruston for over 42 years as Operations Manager, where he retired in 2007.  He spent his years of retirement taking his grandchildren to school, drinking coffee with his friends in the afternoons, picking up and delivering fresh tomatoes from south Arkansas to his friends, and truly checking on and caring for others. Mo loved his church home at Grace UMC, especially the Methodist Men’s group. People that knew him had great respect for him, mainly because he treated everyone with respect. He was preceded in death by his parents: Mr. and Mrs. O.T. Robinson; his brother: Johnny Robinson; his sister: Gaynell R. Jenkins; and a son: Andy Robinson.

Mo is survived by his wife of 41 years, Debbie Rainey Robinson; son: Jeffery L. Robinson and wife, Laurie; eight grandchildren: Owen, Blake, Phoenix, Sydney, Jacob, Laney, Joshua, and Jack; niece: Paula J. Miller and husband, James; and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be James Anderson, Danny Crawford, James Davison, Jerry Drewett, Paul Frazier, Tommy Gregory, Dennis Ledet and Mark Stockle. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Gilbert and William Harvey Hanks.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Grace United Methodist Church.

Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 3401 Trenton, Ruston, LA 71270 or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or stjude.org.
