Mary Ann McKinnie Eley, age 68, of Ruston entered into her heavenly reward, passing from this life 16-days after suffering a stroke while at her home on November 21, 2017. Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 10, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Ruston. Rev. Dr. Michael Hawley will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Unionville Cemetery, south of Dubach, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Visitation services were held at Kilpatrick Funeral Home on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 PM.Mary Ann was born on September 21, 1949 in Ruston and passed away on December 7, 2017 in Shreveport, LA. She was a Class of 67 graduate of Ruston High School, and a graduate of Louisiana Tech University, with a Master Degree Plus Thirty in elementary education. Mary Ann taught fourth grade education for 30 years at Ruston Elementary School in Ruston.She is preceded in death by her father, E. B. Shorty McKinnie and her mother, Annette Albritton McKinnie; and a younger brother, Jeffery Marshall McKinnie.Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 45 years, Johnny Wayne Eley of Ruston; sons, Nathan Brody Eley and wife Elizabeth, and their son James Revels, Jr; and Aaron Wade Eley and wife Aleta, and their children, Auguste William, Amity Elise, Emmalyne Aleta, Molly Kate, and Ruby Jayne.Pallbearers will be Clint Bartlett, Michael Elledge, Brad Kimball, Jim Owens, James Revels, Jr., and Zach Yates.Memorials may be made in her name to Geneva Academy, 2507 Oliver Road, Monroe, LA 71201; a Classical Christian Academy of Monroe, LA.
